Edwardses Out, Andys In?

As the future of Wrexham AFC off the pitch, and especially at the Racecourse Ground, looks increasingly uncertain, it seems that it will be harder for Wrexham to hold onto their most promising players. Paul Edwards has failed to agree a new contract, with Denis Smith claimimg that the club's financial situation meant that Edwards could not be made what he felt was a reasonable offer. While Craig Morgan now looks likely to remain with the club (I almost said "to remain at the Racecourse" then, but I think I'd better avoid such rash predictions as that), it appears that it is only Carlos' injury that prevents clubs from making offers on our other Edwards. With (Paul) Edwards on his way out, speculation about a new left-sided player joining the club is rife. One name being banded about is Andy Holt of Hull, who was farmed out on loan to Shrewsbury last year. Another Andy reportedly catching Denis' eye is Andy Parkinson of Sheffield United, who was also loaned out to a lower division side last season - Notts County - and did quite well for them against Wrexham. It is likely that at least one more new signing will be announced before the start of the season, and it may well be one of the Andys. It might also be someone lese, who nobody knows anything about. In fact, my money's on the latter.
