I Am Not Mystic Meg

As predicted on this website, Wrexham will today finalise the signing of a left-sided midfielder. And, as predicted on this website, his name is not Andy. It's Alex. Alex Smith, formerly of Chester City (boo! hiss!) and now a Red Dragon (hallelujah! praise the lord!). But whilst this cross-border transfer action is good news, bad news for me and Wrexham is that my prediction that Craig Morgan would remain at the club may prove to be incorrect. Like Paul Edwards, it seems he wants more money. Unless he's spent the close season under a rock or on holiday to Mars, he must surely realise that money is not something that Wrexham have a lot of, so this may be a way out for him, and that rumour linking him with Coventry City sounds a little more credible.

In fact, as if to prove how low Wrexham have sunk in the financial stakes, Matt Baker recently admitted that Conference side Hereford had offered him more money than Wrexham. Yes, that's right, Conference side Hereford, they of the shoot-Welshmen-on-a-Sunday-with-a-crossbow-within-the-grounds-of-the-castle fame. Perhaps the only hope for Wrexham AFC is to convince Harrison Ford to invest in the club. Indiana Jones himself was recently spotted enjoying a canal boating holiday in North Wales, accompanied by Ally McBeal. Now, lawyers are supposed to have a lot of money, aren't they?
