Stopping The Rot
It is a constant worry for me that Wrexham are susceptible to a slump in form that could last for months. With the way things are at the club currently, the likelihood of a run of defeats becoming a full-blown relegation battle only seems to have increased. And, wouldn't you know it, after an admirable start to the season, the ship now needs a little steadying as Wrexham haven't won since the Bradford game, four matches ago. A run in what was once the Auto Windscreens Shield would boost morale at the club, and (whisper it) there aren't too many teams in the competition I wouldn't fancy us to beat. At home. On a good day. With everyone fit. And a two-goal headstart.
For tonight's match, Notts County may be there for the taking, as they have a number of fitness worries, including Rob Ullathorne, Ian Richardson, Stefan Oakes, Chris Palmer and Gavin Gordon. For Wrexham, Chris Armstrong (achilles) is still unavailable, as is Darren Ferguson (thigh strain). Brian Carey looks likely to make way for Craig Morgan to start.
All sorts of things have been occurring off the pitch, with Hamilton planning to axe more board members, and then BBC Wales discovered that Hamilton may not legally own the ground after all. The plot thickens, as they say.
Incidently, I'm working on some more additions to the stuff page, but my lack of reliable internet access (see previous postings) means it may be some time before I actually manage to get that done.
