Wales Vs.Wrexham
The international fixtures this week got me thinking about the differences between being a Wrexham fan and a Wales fan. While there are some similarities (they rarely win anything, you have to tell people where they are geographically/that they have a team, they get very little media coverage), there are a lot of differences.
While the club that you support is like a girlfriend/boyfriend/spouse (you might have been forced into an "arranged marriage" by your dad - although you eventually pick your own anyway, you stick with them through all the pain, you keep saying you'll leave and then getting seduced again), the country you're from is more like family (you have no say in the matter, they reflect how the rest of the world sees you, they are often a cause of ridicule). Though this analogy might be stretching things a bit far, you can probably see what I mean.
Meanwhile, Wrexham prepare for the visit of Bradford, their first match in nearly two weeks. The intervening period has allowed several Wrexham players to shake off injuries, including Jim Whitley, who may start against the Bantams. Alex Smith and Darren Ferguson are also likely to be in contention, with Brian Carey and Chris Llewellyn less likely to play, but nearing full fitness.
