Wrexham 0 Sheffield Wednesday 3 (League One)
A miserable week for Wrexham continued as they went down 3-0 at home to Sheffield Wednesday. Paul Sturrock's side took the lead on 25 minutes when Steve Maclean followed up Jon-Paul McGovern's shot, and beat Matt Baker from close range. Ten minutes into the second half, Wrexham were two behind when Chris Brunt added another for the Owls, and the home fans' misery was compounded when Adam Proudlock pounced on a rebound to make it 3-0 to the visitors.
Denis Smith had been quite upbeat before the match, or at least that was the impression he gave in an interview on Friday, published on the PFA's website. This week I have also discovered Red Alert, a LiveJournal (a blog, basically) by another Wrexham fan. Am I worried about the competition? We're all in this together, don't you know.
