Back In Business

After what seems like an age, Wrexham have a football match tomorrow. Walsall are the visitors to the Racecourse, and with Paul Merson's side having struggled of late, this should be a good opportunity to get back into the swing of League One football. Andy Dibble is still out, and Chris Armstrong is doubtful, but Wales U21 representatives Matt Crowell, Simon Spender and Mark Jones are all in the squad. Denis Smith celebrated three years as Wrexham manager last Friday, and will be looking for a win to push Wrexham a little higher up the table.
Wrexham have had two continental players on trial this week, with Denis Smith taking advantage of the international breeak to have a look at Spaniard Juan Ugarte (formerly of Real Sociedad), and Finnish U21 International Jarno Heinikangas. They will both remain at the Racecourse for "a little while", giving Wrexham the chance to run the rule over them in earnest.
In other news, Wrexham Supporters' Trust are holding a fundraising gig on Sunday October 17th (that's this week). Attila The Stockbroker and the one and only Gareth Owen will be performing.
