Carlos' Contract and the Comeback Trail
Wrexham today travel to Doncaster, another side that has a 'history' with property developers. There has been a lot of support from Doncaster fans for the campaign to save the Racecourse, and a show of solidarity is likely to take place at today's match. Dave Morley and Tim Ryan are likely to return for the home side, but Stephen Foster, Greg Blundell and Simon Marples aren't yet fit. For Wrexham, Brian Carey will probably return to the starting line-up, and there is a chance that Chris Armstrong and Darren Ferguson may feature, but Dennis Lawrence needs more time to regain match fitness.
Meanwhile, the draw for the next round of the LDV Vans Trophy was made this morning. Wrexham will play Stockport at the Racecourse, and the match will be played either on the 2nd or 3rd of November. Perhaps a lengthy run in the Trophy might help pay for a new contract for Carlos Edwards. The injured winger will be out of contract in the summer, and can sign a pre-contract agreement with another club if Wrexham don't extend his deal before January. By then, he could be fit enough to pull on a Wrexham shirt again - I just hope he'll still be wearing one next season.
