Points Make Prizes

Wrexham begin the tough task of avoiding relegation (despite a ten-point penalty) tonight, by
entertaining Stockport. Either Steve Roberts or Levi Mackin will come in for Craig Morgan, who
picked up a hamstring injury on Friday night.
Who will own the club by the time the club play their next match is far from certain. Alex Hamilton claims he is within hours of selling Wrexham to Andrew Smith, a Surrey-based businessman and former Lib Dem member of Surrey County Council. Mark Ferguson, brother of Darren, was apparently the reason Mr. Smith got involved in the deal. Mr. Smith is, like Mr.
Hamilton, primarily known as a property developer, which is a phrase guaranteed to strike fear
inot the hearts of football fans everywhere.
Furthermore, Mr. Smith has admitted that he does not have the funds to wipe out Wrexham's debt if he has to pay £2.5m to buy the club from Mr. Hamilton, who presumably would still own (and sell off) the Racecourse Ground.
