Oldham Athletic 3 Wrexham 5
Well, not a bad time to watch my first away match of the season. Juan Ugarte opened the
scoring on 29 minutes, before youngster Mark Jones added a second three minutes later. Scott
Vernon pulled one back for the home side to give them hope at half-time, but in the second
half, the floodgates were thrust open. Ugarte scored again on 55 minutes, and by the time he
completed his hat-trick on 62 minutes, Darren Ferguson had already added another directly
from a free-kick, which led directly to a couple of seats being broken in the away end.
Oldham managed to pull themselves back into the tie, if not the match, with goals from Eyres
and a second for Vernon (from the penalty spot).
