Wrexham 3 Liverpool 4 (Friendly)

Wrexham's season got off to an explosive start against the European Cup holders, taking the lead following a mistake by Dietmar Hamman, which led to Jon Walters stealing possession and putting Mark Jones through to score a confident opener.
It didn't take long for Liverpool to equalise, though, and it was Fernando Morientes who got the goal. This started a period of Liverpool dominance, culminating in another goal for Morientes just before the break.
Liverpool made nine changes at half-time, but continued to dominate the game, scoring a third goal through Milan Baros. The Czech striker scored a second twenty minutes before time, but Wrexham scored two late goals to make the scoreline more respectable. More importantly, these two late goals came from new signing Jon Walters and trialist Rodney Jack.
