Wrexham 2 Boston United 0
I'm excited enough by Wrexham's start to the season to write this on a Saturday night rather than wait for Sunday morning.
Mark Jones scored the first goal of Wrexham's season on 23 minutes, and doing it in style from 25 yards out. Boston, boasting a strike force of Julian Joachim and Noel Whelan, had few chances, and the away side managed only one real attempt on goal.
Lee Roche added a second in the last eight minutes to seal the win.
Denis Smith was certainly pleased: "It was an excellent performance and I don't think the result flattered us in any way" he told Wrexham's official website.
