Goals from Andy Holt and Jon Walters sealed the points for Wrexham, ensuring a second consecutive win. Holt's opener came just eight minutes into the game, when the makeshift centre-back managed to get direct Darren Ferguson's corner goalwards.
Walters guaranteed the victory with 20 minutes to go, having already had his fair share of chances earlier on in the game.
Perhaps most encouragingly, Wrexham's severely weakened defence managed to keep a clean sheet, partly thanks to the acrobatic efforts of Michael Ingham.
