Fellow Fans In Exile #7: Andrew York

What's your full name?
Andrew York

Where are you exiled?
I am living in Darlington, County Durham (about 117.5 miles from the Racecourse)

What have been the best and worst things/experiences about being an exiled fan?

My favourite experiences have been the convivial atmosphere at the Racecourse and on away trips. I also feel proud to be a Wrexham supporter when I see the dedication of WST and our supporters as a whole in the fight to save our club and the Racecourse Ground.

The worst aspect of being an exile is definitely the cost and difficulty of traveling to Wrexham by train. On at least 3 occasions I haven't been able to make it to a match because of late connections, train strikes and there being only one train service running from Chester to Wrexham early on Saturday afternoon.

Who's your favourite Wrexham player of all time?

A difficult choice but I think that Gary Bennett tops the list.

Which has been your favourite season supporting Wrexham?

Our Second Division promotion season two years ago.

Have you developed a soft spot for any of the teams in your area since being exiled?

I have always had an affinity with Darlington too as I was born in the town.

How often do you get to see Wrexham play/how do you keep up with results and news?

When I am in Darlington I get to six or seven home games and 4 or 5 away games in a season. I only saw Wrexham play twice last season because I was living in El Salvador in Central America. I managed to stay in touch with what was happening at the club through Red Passion online.
