Sandwiched between two John Walters goals came contributions from Dean Bennett and Simon Spender to give Wrexham a convincing victory.
Torquay scored twice as well: the first with more than a little help from Mike Ingham forgetting that there was a player behind him, and the second coming too late in the game to have any bearing on the overall result.
