Huddersfield Town 1 Wrexham 2
Finally, Wrexham picked up three points - and away from home. Andy Holt headed in a Darren
Ferguson cross to give the visitors a ninth-minute lead, but the two sides went in at half-time
level thanks to a Danny Schofield equaliser. Five minutes into the second half, David Mirfin
brought down Chris Armstrong in the box, and the referee awarded a penalty. Armstrong
himself took it, sending former Manchester United and Charlton keeper Paul Rachubka the
wrong way, and giving Wrexham their first league win in eight attempts. The shine was taken
off slightly when Hector Sam was sent off for violent conduct late on, but Wrexham confidence
should now be lifted for Tuesday's derby in the LDV Vans Trophy.
